Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire a professional photographer?
In general and with digital photography becoming so accesible,
people tend to think "what is the point of hiring a professional photographer when my cousin has a DSLR?" Professional Wedding Photographers have the appropriate equipment, know how to make
the most of it, have the relevant experience and most importantly
will not let you down on your Big Day.

What should I look for when choosing my Wedding Photographer?
Just choose someone whose work you truly love. The pictures are what
is going to stay with you forever, once you have beautiful pictures you can have a beautiful album.
My advice would be, look for: experience, eye and personality.

Are we meeting you before hand?
Yes, I offer a free consultation prior to the Wedding regardless of whether you choose me or not for your Big Day. However, if a meeting isn't possible due to time and distance restraints, a phone call or Skype does the trick!

How soon will I be able to see my pictures?
I will normally have ready a preview of 5 images uploaded to my website just few days after the Wedding. Then, after 3-5 weeks I will upload the rest of the hand edited images to your password protected gallery on this website. I do think that processing and editing the images is as important as taking the pictures, so I like to spend time editing and enhancing each of them, removing the odd spot, or clearing a bit of litter that someone forgot to throw away.

Are you a member of any photography organisation?
I have been a member of the NUJ (National Union of Journalists) in their London Photographers Branch since 2007.

Which cameras do you use?
I will photograph your wedding using top of the range Canon Cameras and lenses (Canon 5D mkIII and a Canon 5D mkII). I always carry a set of at least 4 lenses and lots of extra batteries, memory cards etc... So I always have back up and there is no room for any unwanted surprises.

Are you insured?
Yes, I make a living as a photographer and therefore I am fully insured, including public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Will you need food on the day?
Yes please! At the end of the day I am only human, but I don't expect to have the same as your Wedding Guests, just a bit of something warm will keep me going for the rest of the day.

How do I share my wedding pictures with my friends and family?
I will advise you to get a beautiful coffee table album and share it over a cuppa with them. But sometimes we are all so busy! So your friends and family will have access to the password protected online gallery where they can order prints as they wish.

What if you fall ill?
This has never happened before as I am a real trooper! However, if an illness prevents me from being able to attend, I have a large network of more than capable Professional Wedding Photographers that will step in. Of course i would make sure that my replacement is of a high standard.

What happens if you are already booked for our day?
Unfortunately I can't be in two places at the same time, and dates go quickly, so the sooner you book me the better! But If I happen to be busy I may point you in the direction of one of my really trusted colleagues.

How can I book you?
If, after the Wedding Consultation you decide to go ahead with the booking, I will send you a contract. You can then secure the date once it is returned signed along with a non-refundable deposit. The balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding day.
